Acumen works with SJS on projects in the area of diversity management and gender-related management issues.

For example, we recently worked on a project for The Leadership Initiative, a group led by representatives of IBEC, ICTU, The Wheel, International Women's Forum, The Sia Group and the Public Service.

Its core objective is to enrich the quality of leadership across Irish Life through the achievement of greater diversity in leadership.

This project was a feasibility study on the development of a training/support programme for women appointed to boards, and also women with an interest in serving on boards. As part of the study, SJS conducted in-depth interviews with a number of Board members and potential Board members, and a confidential on-line survey of senior managers in the Irish Public Service and other sectors, and members of Boards.

This project is now complete and a report has been submitted to the Leadership Initative.
